Pantheism
Pantheism is the branch of Polytheism which believes that the gods are former mortals who ascended to the pantheon through committing great deeds. Some interpretations say that Manandae determines what counts as a great deeds. Others say that the Determinant exist outside the pantheon.
The branch came into being in the aftermath of the Eirunand Crisis.
- this branch is popular in self-help pamphlets and "Become-a-God-in-Thirty-Days" schemes
Funeral Rites
Pantheist funeral practices are unusual in that they center around the burning of the deceased body. It is believed that this is evocative of the conclusion of the Eirunand Crisis, though this is merely an educated guess. In preparation, the body is placed on a funeral pyre and adorned with googly eyes over the eyelids. The practice is a distinctive marker of the branch.
Some more zealous Pantheists have taking to placing these googly eyes on the statues and tombs of other Polytheist figures, dead or alive. This hooliganism has led to guards being placed around potential targets during religious holidays.
