War of Castellain Succession
The War of Castellain Succession was a dispute over the succession of the Duchy of Castelle. The war resulted in a personal union between Castelle and Comer. It also placed Comer in a position to challenge The Republic of Kaelmar as the preeminent state of Omnia.
Causes
The cause of the conflict can be traced to the Duchess Marianne Delamaer and her marriage to Marazdo Loxelain. While the marriage between a human and a Loxodon was considered unusual by most of Omnia, it was only taken as a threat by Galamaed. Marianne had been betrothed to the Galamaen noble Garen Arganor since they were both children.

After the marriage had taken place and the war was lost, a rumor had spread in Galamaed that Duchess Marianne would never has agreed to such an unnatural match if not for the influence of The Packin' Pachyderm. However there is little chance the Duchess was familiar with this establishment. A different theory states that the writings of Hegel Hirian influenced her decision. This is more widely considered, as her library in the Hillfort contained a number of his works including a pamphlet on the Trunkjob.
