Victoria Venderberg is a smuggler and secret agent from the city of Comer.

Early life

Victoria Venderberg was born in 251 AG to a dockhand in Plankytown. She was born with the name Victoria Deleran, a mark of her elvish background. A year into her life, she was orphaned during the Sack of Comer.

She then spent her early childhood as a ward of Robin's Nest Orphanage, an orphanage in the merchant district of Comer. During this time she became a child pickpocket to develop an income for herself. According to Cyrrin, she made a drunken boast that at seven years old, she took a coin purse from King Faldonne Loxelain during his own coronation.

This child prodigy was noticed by the smuggler turned merchant Charm Dimeshore. Rather than take her under his wing directly, he set her up as an apprentice to his rival merchant, Jacques Darnielle. She was to serve him as a page, but report any information about his dealings to Dimeshore. This proved a challenge to her, since she was (and still is) illiterate. However, the task of memorizing long documents led her to develop an elephant-like memory.

During the Comerain Revolution

Her skill in espionage was noticed by Fillaine as part of her plot to overthrow the Loxelain Royal Family. She was expected to recruit any malcontents in Comer to the rebellion. While she failed to find anyone useful, she did manage to recruit Yishai Heilrayne, Kazin Foxglove, and Doozhesa Loxelain.

At the same time, she was able to gain a job as groundskeeper in the Hillfort. Firstly, this gave her access to the home of the royal family, striking up a friendship with Auriane Loxelain, daughter of the king. With this, she could gain information on the government's actions. Secondly, she was able to make money bringing alcohol into the Hillfort. This made her the castle's dealer after the passing of the Edicts of Purity.

During the Siege of the Hillfort, she attempted to kidnap the Crown Prince Jeserai, the ranking royal in the castle. Her plan was to bring him to a private room and spike his wine with a sleeping potion. At this point, she would tie him up and place him in a box. The box would be taken by a servant to a winch, which would be lowered outside the walls. The servant and the box would be picked up by the besiegers, giving them an important hostage.
