Faldonne Loxelain
Early Life
Born in 231 AG to Marazdo Loxelain and Marianne Delamaer.
Time as King
At the age of 28, Faldonne Loxelain succeeded his father Marazdo Loxelain to wear the Oaken Circlet, thus becoming the King of Comer, Duke of Castelle, and Protector of the Northern Archipelago. Seeing as he had only recently become heir to these titles and had not been prepared to rule, many in the Hillfort were wary of the new king's competence. He had already acquired a bastard at this point, a human child named Jeserai Loxelain, as well as another on the way by the noblewoman Margot don Lyez (that child would eventually be born with the name Auriane Loxelain). His decision to raise these children as his own would prove an ongoing controversy, especially after the birth of his legitimate children.
These antics were not unopposed by those in the Hillfort. Chief among the discontents was Sisilia Loxelain, who dominated the court of his father. She preferred to rule from the backseat of power, but this would not be possible on account of Faldonne's playboy lifestyle.
Since the death of his elder brothers during the Sack of Comer, Sisilia had worked to change the laws of succession to place one of Marazdo Loxelain's grandchildren in the top role. She originally chose Isaiah Loxelain, but his increasing delinquency made this an untenable position. Though Marazdo knew Faldonne was not fit to be king, his grief at the loss of his other children blinded him from taking any drastic action. Such a move was also opposed by those who believed the kingdom needed a strong figurehead to lift its spirits after its defeat in The Anvin War. Seeing as no other candidates had reached adulthood, Faldonne was the only choice for those of this view. Faldonne would not forget this, leading to a permanent rift between the king and his most accomplished civil servant.
