First Congressmoot on Succession

The First Congressmoot on Succession was a meeting between the Voices of the five main powers of the Pentarchate, as well as representatives from minor regions and factions and observers from Extralegal Space, which took place in ZY 3100. The Congressmoot was held originally at In The Face Of Absurdity, a Selfmade station, until the assassination of the Voice for the Selfmade, Crafter of Regulations, which forced the the ‘Moot to be called off and reconvened on Lambent Station five standard lunar cycles later.

Background

Two years after the beginning of the start of what would become the Pentarchate Succession Crisis, but at the time was merely the Iridium Throne succession crisis, the severe sanctions set on the Throne by Weun and the Selfmade Consensus had at last forced Varuk Mai MMCV to enter to the negotiating chamber. The Democratic Republic of Aegypiinae and Inokh were requested by both sides of the conflict to attend the ‘Moot as diplomatic backup, and they did so, although for their own reasons, which will be summarized shortly.

The main topic of debate from the outset was to do with the recent conduct of the Throne, both in its erratic foreign policy and severe domestic policy, and whether Varuk Mai MMCV should be retired from office. This focus would shift over the course of the ‘Moot from the eccentricities of a single ruler to a referendum on the Iridium Throne as a valid form of government under the Transrelative Arliok Code of Ethics.

The Ensemble

    • Position: Cease interfering with Throne affairs. Return traitors and dissidents to the Throne for judgement. Open a discussion for amending the Transrelative Code of Ethics.
  • Voice of Weun - Consul Valanous
    • Position: For Truth and Peace, I call on the interplanetary community to hold the Throne accountable for its crimes against Life. (They then struck a pose which is not directly translatable, but can be summarized as ‘plucky’)
  • Voice of Aegypiinae - Committee Chair Rroh ak Rret
    • Position: The Throne needs to retire Varuk Mai MMCV, appoint a new leader, a procedure they ought to be well acquainted with. Weun and the Consensus need to chill, so we can resume the normal trade conditions that our citizens rely on.
  • Voice of Inokh - Premier Hyklu’han
    • Position: Inokh is a planet, not a space station. The current level of refugees moving through the outer system is untenable, and whatever policy needs to happen to fix that is one I will support.
  • Voice of the Selfmade - Crafter of Regulation (d), Wise in the Ways of War
    • Position: The Throne is no longer an ethical form of government, hasn’t been for at least 500 years, and ought to be completely - forcibly if required - systemically overhauled.

    • Position: Ideological revamp of the Iridium Throne in line with the Neo-Platinumous Theory of Ideal Form
  • Inner Trelia: Chief Delegate Gilgabar Gramm
    • Position: Will vote negatively for any party whose plan continues strife in the system.

    • Position: The Pentarchate leaders should get in these alkhaestric tanks we brought and submit their fluids to the sublime principles of Inchoatism.
