Ulrich Aster

Ulrich Aster is a former member of the Zahav family's household guard. Notable for being the only Dragonborn member of the guard, and for being the only member known for his skill with fire-based magic.

Born in Kol Ladur in 256, Aster grew up in a shantytown in the poorest part of the city. His biological parentage is unknown, as he was found and raised by adoptive parents, a couple named Elena Morin and Artemis Aster. He learned of his propensity for fire at a young age, and immediately used it to ensure his and his mothers' survival. As he grew older, he also gained a powerful understanding of hand-to-hand combat, in which he is seldom defeated.

At one point, it is believed that he met Valeraine Silentlash, who offered him money in exchange for answers to a multitude of questions about Dragonborn biology, though this story is largely apocryphal.

At the age of seventeen, he left his mothers and shantytown behind to travel the world by stowing away on ships. Specific details of his travels are largely unknown, but it is confirmed that he spent two years stowing away and traveling. Towards the end of his two year venture, he happened upon Aurelia, where the Zahavim hired him to join their guard. He dedicated five years to their service, during which he met his current husband. They live together in Caelmar with their dog, Porter.
